FEBRUARY SECRETARY'S REPORT

2009-10 THANKSGIVING OFFERING UPDATE
God bless each one who has given – and you who will continue to give – to our THANKSGIVING OFFERING. With the offerings reported this month [$5519.00 – see the Offerings Report pages in the February issue of our monthly newsletter, THE MISSION SHEETS], our new updated total to $90,321.01. We are praying and hoping that still others of you will contribute over the weeks to come and that we can reach our $100,000 Goal!

THE THANKSGIVING OFFERING IS USED TO DISBURSE THOSE COMMITMENTS WE HAVE MADE TO OUR MISSIONARIES FROM THE GENERAL FUND WHICH ARE NOT SUPPLIED BY OUR MONTHLY OFFERINGS TO THE GENERAL FUND.

MONTHLY GENERAL FUND SOLVENCY
THANK YOU! THANK YOU, GIVING FRIENDS! Our January offerings to the Monthly General Fund totaled $40,343.05 [see the Offerings Report printed in the February issue of our monthly newsletter, THE MISSION SHEETS]. So many of you have responded graciously to our appeals to you to increase your long-term commitments to give to the Monthly General Fund. We all bless God and thank you for your response.

Here is a sample of the kind of response you have made. This note came to us from one of our long-time faithful supporting churches. “The Calvary Baptist Church of Uniontown KY has voted to increase its ‘gifts’ to BFM from 7% to 10%. The Calvary Baptist Church is not a large church; nor are we rich. Actually, we are just able to stay above water ourselves. Many are unemployed. However, due to BFM’s need and our blessings, we are increasing our missions giving. Perhaps others will do likewise. Grace and Peace, Harold Greenfield, pastor.”

I think you will find a Scriptural precedent for this exhortation in 2 Corinthians 8.1-5. I hope you will accept their encouragement and respond with them.

“Now, therefore, KNOW and CONSIDER WHAT YOU WILL DO…”
